Entering into Lent

I’m asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with him in his house my whole life long.
I’ll contemplate his beauty;
I’ll study at his feet. – Psalms 27:4 (MSG)

Some seasons are better than others. The past season, for me, has been a little dry.

It’s because I let myself become distracted from my mornings with Him.

Before I became a stay at home (and yoga teaching) mom I thought I would have all this time to spend with the Lord. Like we would just be hanging out all day. I would sing, read, tell my kids about him all the time. It would be magic.

Ha! I’m human. I’m distracted. I’m so not good at keeping my focus on Him.

For me, this next season needs to be different. I need to be in his word, daily. I need to contemplate his beauty and study at his feet.

I just miss Him. Ya, know?

I want to invite you to join me. Do this thing with me. Let’s read a scripture, just one, each day during Lent. Let’s really let each one sink in. Let’s practice contemplative prayer. Let’s mediate on his word. Let’s love each word with our whole beings and thrive on those words throughout the day.

Last year I made a Lectio Divina Journal for Lent, and this year I made another one. Download it and join me. I did put a little price on it this year, because hey- these things take time, and lately time is precious and valuable.

I sincerely hope you’ll join me in this. When you download the journal, I’ll send you a link to a private Facebook group for those of us participating in the practice. In that group, I’ll do two free Facebook Live Holy Yoga classes during Lent, and we will do a few meditations online together as well. Let’s become a community of lovers of the word.
